Approximately 185 of our Toronto area volunteers greet, meet and assist nearly 400,000 travellers each year.
Our free services include:
- Finding last minute Bed & Breakfast, Hostel, Hotel, Motel and Emergency accommodations (over 3,500 confirmed reservations in 2002).
- Assist (once on-site) the elderly, invalid/sick patients, as well as the physically challenged.
- Providing tourist information, maps and suggestions on "What to See and Do" in Toronto and Area.
- Act as a referral link between immigrants, refugees and stranded travellers and the various social agencies.
- In cooperation with other social and welfare agencies provide transportation tickets in certain Emergency situations.
- Finally, we assist travellers solving many of the "day-to-day" challenges, by just being there with a friendly smile.
